The American College of Medical Coding Specialists (ACMCS) is a not-for-profit professional organization that supports the healthcare industry by advancing and developing the coding profession’s role in reimbursement and compliance through quality education and resources.

Please visit www.acmcs.org for more information about this exciting professional group and to learn how YOU can become a member that will shape the future of this organization!

Looking at the challenges ahead, we couldn't be more excited that the American College of Medical Coding Specialists (ACMCS) and the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) have joined forces to meet those challenges by providing coding professionals like you with the best education in the industry.

As the first benefit of our collaboration, all ACMCS members pay AHIMA-member pricing to the Academy for ICD-10, AHIMA's series of "train-the-trainer" seminars. These seminars give medical coding and HIM professionals the expertise and knowledge required to become ICD-10 instructors themselves. ACMCS members will find them to be of exceedingly great value.

The faculty for Building Expert Trainers in Diagnosis Coding (held in Chicago, November 8-9), includes well-known consultant, speaker, and industry leader, Lynn Kuehn MS, RHIA, CCS-P, PCS, FAHIMA. Significantly, and appropriately, Ms. Kuehn is a member of both organizations.

If this important session fits into your schedule, go here to register http://www.ahima.org/events/icd10trainer/nov-13-2010.html or call AHIMA at (800) 335-5535. ACMCS members may contact the ACMCS central office at (800) 946-9402 to receive the special coupon code.

This is just the beginning of ACMCS' and AHIMA's work together to bring you quality education and resources to help you be as successful as possible. Be on the lookout for more events in the coming months. We look forward to announcing future collaborations, including membership rates for other critically timed, expertly led, and utterly convenient audio seminars and webinars on the hottest topics in medical coding. We hope you look forward to hearing about them.

These new endeavors will make a big difference to everyone. We're certain that our common values, resources, and the shared dedication of our mission-driven, not-for-profit, volunteer-led membership organizations will ensure continued success, and see us through the ICD-10 transition-and beyond.
